I grew up always playing music and then after not getting on too well with the violin, and feeling piano wasn't something I really enjoyed performing, I taught myself guitar at the age of 17. When I turned 18, I moved to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to live with my Dad and I started gigging just as something to do initially. I sang mostly in a hotel bar called The Monroe Bar but I also played functions at the local Golf club and ended up collaborating with some phenomenal Congolese musicians Francesco Nchikala and Mjoe Zuka. I then moved to Australia aged 19 and started busking and gigging around Perth and then Melbourne, gradually increasing my repertoire and finding my own style, whilst being inspired by many other musicians and street performers I met along the way. After 13 months I then moved back to the UK for a year where I gigged 2-4 times a week in local bars and pubs. Since then I have done two ski seasons (in France and Italy) and two summer seasons (in Portugal) where I have also managed to keep making money from my music and also meet lots of other great musicians. I am now moving to Leeds to settle down and again find more gigs amongst other work. And would also love to meet other musicians and artists to collaborate/jam with.
