Zachary Cheang

I grew up in a musical family where my parents played lots of instruments. This early exposure to music sparked my interest, and I began learning classical guitar when I was 10 and singing when I was 15. During my musical journey, I achieved several milestones, like passing guitar exams, including the ABRSM Grade 5, 8, and ATCL exams. I also took part in many concerts and competitions, which were both challenging and fulfilling experiences. My love for singing has been a constant in my life. At 15, I started formal vocal lessons, and I'm fortunate to have a vocal coach who was personally trained by Gary Catona, a famous vocal coach known for working with Whitney Houston. Under my coach's guidance, I've made great progress in improving my singing skills. Now, I'm studying pop vocals at BIMM Institute, where I get to perform and receive feedback from lecturers. This helps me get better at what I love to do. In my classes, I've learned about vocal techniques and vocal mechanisms. This knowledge has boosted my confidence and made me a better singer, allowing me to sing for longer without straining my voice. To learn how to play the guitar and sing at the same time, I've taken lessons with instructors who are experts in both guitar and singing. Their help has allowed me to do both things together smoothly, bringing together my love for guitar and singing in my performances.
