Paul Shine

Hello! My name is Paul, I'm a professional singer, songwriter, pianist/keyboardist, bassist and guitarist based in London. I'm available as a performing artist (originals & covers) with my band Dead Writers, rock cover band WeirdMoon and as a solo act. I also offer private music lessons and songwriting services. At the moment I am also Musical Director for the cabaret show 'The Cult Of'. I started to train as a classical musician at the age of 7 at my hometown's conservatoire, where I studied Piano, Flute, Music Theory and Vocals for 10 years. At the age of 15, I taught myself to play guitar and began to write songs and play live - the journey has just gone on from there! I have performed and recorded with talented artists such as Tara Minton, The Cinelli Brothers, Luke Bowman and Rival Karma. In 2017, I founded my band Dead Writers, which has gained interest from UK radio and press, and recently enjoyed praise from Nick Cave, who featured us on his Bad Seed TV channel. I have also written, arranged and recorded music for films and advertisements, and have performed at multiple live events (small to medium-sized venues, festivals, restaurants, hotels, private parties, weddings). I recorded lead vocals in 2 main tracks for the soundtrack of the acclaimed independent film 'Burning Casablanca'. I specialise in rock, classical, blues and jazz, though I have always loved music as a whole and am comfortable in different styles and genres. I am a passionate performer who always likes to engage the crowd and share the experience with the listener. I learn quickly, can improvise, play by ear and take requests. I have a wide repertoire of covers from all decades and can provide my own gear. My teaching experience spans 7 years working mainly as a private tutor and also in primary and secondary schools around London. I teach Piano, Vocals, Guitar and Music Theory to people of all ages. My approach to private lessons is to deliver professional, friendly and dynamic lessons that inspire the learner to develop a passion for what they are doing whilst giving a sense of purpose.
