Highlights in 2015 included playing cocktail piano aboard super-luxury private megayacht The World around the Mediterranean, MDing a fantastic group of singers and instrumentalists live on Radio 4 to an audience of over a million, and performing at exclusive private events all over the UK as part of the finest Scottish ceilidh band in the country, Triple Scotch. Career to date: Orchestral piano: freelanced with Sinfonia Viva, National Symphony Orchestra, Northern Ballet Sinfonia, Manchester Camerata, Lancashire Sinfonietta, Swansea City Opera, National Festival Orchestra. Corporate & functions: Solo cocktail/background piano, plus regular work with Triple Scotch Ceilidh Band, Craig Owen Band, Alison Wonderband, Stirling Austin Band, Bloomsbury Music and others. Church music: Director of music at Holy Trinity Platt, Manchester; regular arranger and piano MD on Radio 4 Daily Service and Sunday Worship; piano MD for Steve James band at Keswick Convention. Ballet piano: previously played for Northern Ballet, LIPA and Northern Ballet School. Teaching: currently teaching privately and at Stockport Grammar School. Have guided individual students from scratch to beyond Grade 8, and have successfully prepared students for conservatoire auditions in classical piano. Have also accompanied many exams, competitions, recitals etc. Elected Students' Union president during my 2nd year at the RNCM, so took a year out to fulfil that role which, if nothing else, explains the longer than typical number of years spent studying there.
