**BREMF Live Young Artist 2022-23** // ** Upcoming Philip & Dorothy Green Selected Young Artist ** // Since 2012, Lindsey's musicianship & professionalism has led to a wide variety of engagements in the UK and overseas, for VIP corporate clients, at major festivals, and on film soundtrack and album recordings, plus live radio broadcasts. Recent bookings include a private event for Royal Salute Whisky (London Contemporary Voices), film soundtrack recordings for Mica Levi (Orchestrate), choral concerts at Cadogan Hall and St John's Smith Square (London Choral Sinfonia), and solo/consort masterclasses with La fonte musica (Brighton Early Music Festival). In May, Lindsey will sing the soprano solos in Mozart's 'Coronation' Mass for Fleet Choral Society. As a choral singer, Lindsey is a founding member of Horizon Voices & Echo Vocal Ensemble. Her training includes places on the highly competitive VOCES8 Scholarship and Genesis Sixteen schemes. Whilst studying for her BMus degree, she sang and toured with the Choir of King's College London, visiting Paris, Gibraltar, Milan and Hong Kong, as well as recording solo and choral material on the Delphian label. In this choir, Lindsey also sang live multiple times on BBC Radio 3. She features as a supporting artist on Alexander Armstrong's album 'A Year of Song', and on Voka Gentle's track 'Small Victory' for their album Start Clanging Cymbals. Other performance highlights include step-out solos in Handel’s Messiah (Armonico Consort), Second Witch/Chorus in Purcell's Dido and Aeneas (Ryedale Festival), Chorus in Fidelio (Edinburgh International Festival), chorus in Tom Smail's chamber opera Blue Electric (World Premiere), and a tour to Norway with the VOCES8 Scholars. Lindsey feels equally at home singing or playing for sacred and secular occasions including weddings, funerals, civil ceremonies, anniversaries and birthday celebrations. As a cellist, she is also able to organise instrumental ensembles such as a string quartet or trio to perform at your event.

Solo voices soar out of and over the main choir and special praise is due for principal soprano, Lindsey James.

From the first notes it became obvious that we were being royally entertained by an exceptional group that could easily establish a worldwide reputation for itself very quickly. Motets...and chansons...were wafted into our ears with impeccable intonation, balance, grace, charm and perfect diction.

I accompanied Lindsey on the piano when she kindly sang at my Charity Concert at the Sheffield Town Hall in 2014. She is a professional, friendly and brilliant singer.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

My professional yet approachable nature, both on and off the stage. Clients enjoy the switches that I can accommodate between genres, for example from Jazz standards to operatic favourites in the same set list. Clients also appreciate my ability to source other high quality musicians in a fuss-free manner, in order to arrange great vocal or string ensembles.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I've performed in UK venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, St Paul's Cathedral. Internationally, I've sung in St Mark's Basilica (Venice), and at venues in Norway, Paris, and Hong Kong. I've also sung at everything from beer festivals, to contemporary ballet shows, to studios on backing vocals for electro-folk bands and classical crossover stars.

Which artists have you been most influenced by?

As a singer, I admire the agility and ease of Carolyn Sampson, and the emotional sincerity of Nadine Benjamin. When it comes to jazz and classical songs, I love the old numbers by Jerome Kern, and the art songs of Herbert Howells. As a cellist, I have always enjoyed the expression within Jewish-inspired music by Bloch and Bruch.

What is the most high profile gig you've performed?

There are a few standout moments! - BBC Proms - BBC Radio Live Evensong broadcasts - Launch of the 'Coronation' blend of Royal Salute Whisky

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I'll always try my best to be flexible. Please let me know about any time changes as soon as possible so that I can best cater to the new event.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This can be provided at a small additional charge, to cover the time spent creating your ideal playlist between sets.

How much time do you need to set up?

Ideally one hour, to set up any sound equipment or other items such as a music stand, and to perfect the balance for the room/outdoor areas.

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

Yes, I'm very happy to sing whatever suits you and your guests/clients. If you're unsure, I can also provide guidance on suitable music for the given occasion.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

This could depend on how far I am travelling to reach the venue, but where possible: yes.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

Yes, of course! I love a challenge and am always pleased to learn new repertoire.
