Kathryn - (co Founder and Soulful Lead vocals). Started singing very young in her dad's function/show band and 20+ Years singing experience and is still a very young not to mention great singer..... Priyal - (co Founder and Lead/Rhythm guitaristwith too many influences to mentions - From Jan Akkermann to George Benson via Carlos Santana and Larry Carlton. Also BVs. Steve - (co Founder and Bass player and bvs and on occasions as guitar dep). Steve has a degree in classical & Jazz music and his other job is as Keyboardist in the latest Hot Chocolate lineup. He keeps fit to play the bass by swimming in the warm waters off the North Kent coast !!! James - (co Founder and Keyboards & bvs). James has anotherr musical job in a well known Canterbury Choir. He is the only choir singer that we know that can also rap. One day in the near futue, because of his rich baritone voice, he is bound to start a Barry White tribute band. Peter - (co Founder & Drums ....and sometimes Keyboards, when 2 drummers have accidentally turned up). He is a qualified muso and highly influenced by great drummers like Vinnie and Simon Phillips etc., His other life is a as a Sound Engineer and runs his own PA hire company. Other Members (who deputize or rare occasions the above members) Eddie - (Steve's son) - deps on keyboards when James is touring with his choir. Nick - Drum dep. Great drummer with the whole variety of styles Jaime - Great drummer that deps with his unique styles of reggae and funk. Campbell and Steve H - Occasional Deps on guitar when needed. P.S. Freak 90 were absolutely fantastic. Held a surprise 40th birthday for my wife at a venue in Herne Bay. Brought the life to the party and even went out of their way to learn and perform a special Cranberries song for my wife. Many thanks to Priyal, Kat and all the other members of the band for making it so easy and providing a great performance. Thank you guys. Would definitely recommend.

Freak90 play at my restaurant regularly. They are one of the best bands that play here and they play a great selection of 90s Soul, Funk, R&B & Disco (and also some from other years as well). Kath is a great singer backed by a wonderfully talented quartet of musicians. I highly recommend them for parties, weddings and all other upbeat occasions.

Customer questions

Will the singer be the same as who I see in the videos?

For bookings made well in adavance the singer will always be Kat. Of course in the unlikely case of illness we would discuss the possibilty of a replacement singer or other options such as a replacement band via Encore. However if the booking is a an last minute booking with little notice, Freak90 may use a substitur=te if it is acceptable to all parties.

Do you have different line-up options?

Yes. We can play shorter gigs e.g 2x45 max with a 4 piece. Also there is a 3 piece version that can play 2x30 mins or max of 1 hr. But this will not be under Freak90. More likely to be Freak72......and Freak54......

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Please check this with us and try to give us much notice as possible.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

We can enable mp3 files and /or spotify as well as connection for iPOD.

How much time do you need to set up?

Usually 45 mintues - 1 hr.

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

You can request a few songs from the list, but when you are booking us you have to leave most of the nights musical entertaintment to our judgement as we have a lot of experience gauging what audiences like.

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

All equipment is ours. But lighting is an extra fee, Our PA is adequate for 50-75 people. Please let us know if you are expecting significantly more people than this number so we can re-enforce the sound. There may be an additional cost for playing for 100 or or more people for 1-2 hours.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

If there is sufficient time (ie not a short notice booking with less than 4 weeks notice), then we are happy to undertake 1 song (e.g first dance for at a wedding).
