Dino and Gigi comprises two of the Midlands' most well-known jazz singers. Alison Bennet has been performing jazz and swing for well over a decade. She first formed a band in French-speaking Tahiti in 2011, performing in some of the most luxurious hotels in the world. She brought Belle Ambiance to the UK in 2017 with a new line up and they perform a variety of jazz, swing and French songs from the 1930s right up to present day. Alison also performs as a classical guitarist and flautist, having studied music at University. Ben Harpwood sings and swings with with various bands across the West Midlands, including The Debonairs (also found on Encore), and the Great Gatsby style "Stableyard Jazz Band". With a mutual respect from years of encountering each other on the jazz scene, Alison and Ben decided to collaborate in 2020 and use their wealth of experience to create a repertoire of hand-crafted vintage classics. Dino and Gigi is the result, featuring both male and female vocals, their unique renditions are performed in exquisite harmony.

Dino and Gigi were fantastic. They were exactly what we were looking for for a 60th birthday. Their music choices were great and their voices were amazing. Several people on the evening said if they were organising anything they would love to have them sign again.

Customer questions

Do you have different line-up options?

We can also perform as a trio with our regular pianist, which means all of the music can be performed live without the need for backing tracks. Our preferred larger line-up however is with a trumpet. Some of our songs, such as La Vie En Rose and This Guy's In Love, just sound gorgeous with a trumpet!

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We try to book only one gig per day, this means we can be flexible. Please get in touch if any of your requirements change as we will usually be able to accommodate!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Yes. We can always supply suitable background music. We can even bring along disco lights and the big PA system from our function band if you wanted us to run a laptop disco after our performance? This would cost approx £150 extra though due to the extra equpt and later finish.

How much time do you need to set up?

It depends, but if we're performing as a duo we'd need about 20 minutes. If you need us to be set up and sound checked by a certain time, please just let us know though and we will try to accommodate this.

Can you roam around while you perform?

Yes. We use wireless mics which means we can mingle with the crowd or work the room. Please tell us if you'd like us to mingle or if you'd prefer us not to. We're fine either way!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Yes of course. I would suggest you allow us some wiggle room though. We have a lot of experience of knowing which songs go down well with different types of crowds. Although it can be nice to hear your personal favourites, it's also good to keep the crowd happy if possible!

Is all of the equipment (e.g. PA & lighting) included in your quote?

Yes. Please give us an idea of the size of the room, number of guests etc so that we can judge which kit would be most suitable.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

We're happy to learn a song or two. Please let us know if you have any requests that don't appear on our song list. We'll let you know if it sounds feasible and if there would be any extra charge.
