David Vellacott

A recent graduate of Cardiff University Music, David is an experienced and dependable drummer for every occasion. He frequently performs with Rock the Mike, a successful, multi-genre function band that always gets the crowd dancing! Aside from this, his work stretches to Jazz, having previously been a part of a Jazz quintet residency at a Cardiff based location, as well as musicals and shows. To date, he has performed in semi-professional productions of Grease, Our House, Annie, Hairspray and three unpublished musicals at the YMCA theatre in Cardiff. In addition to drum kit performance, he undertakes percussion-based work with Brass Bands and Wind Orchestras, having been trained in this style throughout his school and college years. To date, some of David's performance venue highlights include Tramshed and Portland House in the South Wales area, as well as Symphony Hall in Birmingham and Royal Albert Hall, London. He also had the pleasure of playing on the televised stage of Band Cymru 2018 with the Cardiff University Big Band.
