I am Charlie, a pianist who discovered a passion for music at an early age, refining my skills and repertoire through studies at University of Birmingham. With the ability to perform popular, jazz and classical music, and a network of singers and other musicians I regularly work with, I can provide the ideal live music for your event. My musical journey has led me to perform at hundreds of weddings and parties, in hotel bars and restaurants and at a variety of corporate events, where I create the perfect ambiance for the occasion. Whether setting the scene for special events or providing an intimate atmosphere in esteemed establishments, my goal is to provide an authentic and enjoyable musical experience for all those who listen.

Finding great entertainment for my event (a student ball) seemed a little daunting at first but I needn’t have worried at all: Charlie was fantastic, reliable, accommodating and really helped make sure no detail was overlooked. From the very first email I felt sure that Charlie and the Funk Factory were going to be a fantastic addition to the ball. I was right - the band really was the highlight of our event! All of our guests commented on how fantastic they were and the atmosphere in the venue completely elevated during their sets. The entire band was a pleasure to deal with, I certainly hope they’ll come back and perform for us again!!

Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

I always try my best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let me know!

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and I'm happy to offer this for free. If you'd like me to stay late after I've finished to continue the DJ service, I can do this for an additional £100.

How much time do you need to set up?

I can set-up very quickly if needed but always like 30 minutes or so to give myself some breathing space.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely, I love any opportunity to play an acoustic piano!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

Of course, particularly for wedding ceremonies I can perform a completely bespoke set list for you. For more background music sets, just let me know what kind of genre/vibe you would like.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

Yes, I have my own keyboard. I can also hire a piano shell for my keyboard (to make it look like a grand piano) if you would like - let me know and I can provide a quote for you on this.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

100%, I am happy to learn song requests before the event provided I'm given a few weeks to practice.
