Catrin O’Neill grew up by the sea in Aberdyfi, Southern Snowdonia, surrounded by a wealth of traditional Welsh music and culture. Her Grandmother or Nain, was one of the first to introduce her to the magic of traditional folk songs, often sung in the kitchen beside the warm Aga with a cup of tea in hand. It is her humour and ability to tell a story, transporting the audience to places past and present, that really set her aside from other folk singers. She often plays solo but also as a duo or as part of a three piece incorporating harp, fiddle, bouzouki and whistle. Catrin is also the lead singer of Allan yn y Fan, one of Wales best known traditional folk bands and is a member of the 10 mewn Bws collective. She has toured extensively in the U.K. Ireland and Europe and performs in Welsh and English. If your wedding or event has a theme or colour scheme please do let us know as Catrin will be happy to tailor her outfit to fit your requirements, she is also happy to learn requests for your event provided there is enough notice.

Hi, We were recently lucky enough to be able to book Catrin to host an open Mic night for us. She had previously hosted evenings at the pub next door and I'd only heard great things. The night was a massive success, as well as organising the performers she performed herself which went down a storm. The customers love her and have talked about it ever since. She arranged performers to come along as well as encouraging other to have a go, which they did. We have another booked in and hopefully many more in the future. She always draws a crowd and continues to be extremely popular with my customers. She performs a wide selection of songs in Welsh and English, some of her upbeat numbers will get the whole pub up and singing together, other more beautiful songs will cause the room to hush whilst people stop to listen. Customer questions

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

We always try our best to be flexible to help ensure your event runs as smoothly as possible. If timings change slightly in the run up to the event just let us know.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

Absolutely. This is a really popular request and we actually offer this service for free.

How much time do you need to set up?

We usually set up about 1 to 1.5 hours before the performance time. As soon as our PA is set up we can provide a free playlist service to help set the atmosphere and get your guests ready for our live performance!

Can I pick the pieces you play from the set list?

We're definitely happy to chat through and make sure we find what works for your event.

Do you bring all the equipment you need to perform?

Yes.

Can you learn specific pieces before the event?

If a song isn't included in our song list there may still be a chance we already know it. If there is a special song you'd like us to learn we are happy to do this for you. There is a fee of £20 for this service to take into account rehearsal times etc.
