Brigid Mhairi

I have used music as my form of expression since I was 13 and for me it is essential for communication, whether it is blues, rock, pop, soul, R&B, gospel, reggae and folk music I am working with. In the words of Neil Diamond: "Making music is my life, the one constant I can't live without. It's more than a desire or yearning; it's a necessity" It has often been said that I have no one genre of music, but to me it is a case of the right music for every emotion/situation and I love it all: Since 2008 I have been working with Richard Dunn (amazing singer-songwriter, guitarist and producer!) as an acoustic duo and we perform anything from indie pop to folk music. In July 2012 this culminated in my debut live album The Gathering with Richard as my musician, duet partner and, most importantly, as my producer. In 2009 I joined Edinburgh-based blues band Doc Rodent as their lead singer and we gigged in and around Edinburgh, something I loved doing. In 2011 I rediscovered my folk roots and have been performing at Prestonfield House, Edinburgh up to six nights a week during the season, singing some of the songs I have on my album until the pandemic. I live to perform live but enjoy singing in the studio and at home.
