Elizabeth Wells, American Soprano, is currently a student at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and a recent graduate of Westminster Choir College. She received her degree of Bachelor of Arts in Music, Vocal Studies Concentration, magna cum laude from Westminster Choir College of Rider University. During her time at Westminster Choir College, Ms. Wells attended Vienna: Language of Lieder, and Si parla, si canta. Ms. Wells was also a member of Symphonic Choir, in which she performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra in works such as Beethoven’s 9th Symphony, Rachmaninoff's The Bells, and the rarely performed Bernstein’s Mass. Ms. Wells is also a member of the international professional music fraternity, Sigma Alpha Iota, and was awarded the Triennial Graduate Performance Award for Voice in 2015. Through Westminster Opera Theater, Ms. Wells has performed Dido from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Mrs. Nolan from Menotti’s The Medium. Ms. Wells has also been in the chorus of I Capuleti e i Montecchi, Iolanta, and Les Contes des Hoffmann. Ms. Wells has also performed scenes through both Westminster Opera Theater and Si parla si canta from the following operas: Nicolai’s Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor (Frau Fluth), Mozart’s Idomeneo (Idamante), Cosi fan tutte (Despina), Le Nozze di Figaro (Cherubino, Marcellina), Gluck’s Orfeo e Euridice (Orfeo), and Massenet’s Don Quichotte (Dulcinee) to name a few. At the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Ms. Wells has performed in two scene concerts. She has performed scenes from The Consul (Magda Sorel), Le Nozze di Figaro (Marcellina), Il Barbiere di Siviglia (Berta), and The Turn of the Screw (Miss Jessel). She was also a member of RCS Voices for their performance of Bach’s St. John’s Passion. During July 2016, Ms. Well attend the Lyric Opera Studio Weimar and performed the role of Clorinda in Rossini’s La Cenerentola. She also sang a scene from Mozart’s Cosi fan tutte as Despina in several orchestral concerts. Formerly, she studied with Elem Eley, Dr. Eric Rieger, Kathleen McKellar-Ferguson, and Judith Howard. She currently studies with Dr. Scott Johnson. Ms. Wells will continue her academics next year, as she finishes her Masters at the Royal Conservatoire. She is currently putting together a series of concerts and operas, featuring American music. The first recital is a Christmas concert in Edinburgh in December 2016.
