Miranda Ostler graduated from Durham University in 2015, where she read Music. She is now working as a freelance musician in the London region while studying singing with Ghislaine Morgan. She currently sings at All Saints' Church, Putney (Patrick Allies) as a choral scholar, and is also the John Ireland Trust Soprano Choral Scholar with Sloane Square Choral Society (Oliver Lallemant). She has deputised at many London churches and chapels, including All Saints’ Margaret Street, Old Royal Naval College Chapel, St Stephen's Gloucester Road, and St Mark's Regents Park. She has sung with the London Choral Sinfonia (Michael Waldron) at St Paul’s Cathedral, St John’s Smith Square, Cadogan Hall and Kings Place, has toured Mexico and the UK with Schola Cantorum of Oxford (James Burton), and sings with the Philharmonia Chorus as part of their Student Scheme. She has performed live on In Tune, The Choir and in several Radio 3 Choral Evensong broadcasts with the Rodolfus Choir (Ralph Allwood), and has recorded for film and television at Abbey Road, Dean Street, Air, and Strongroom Studios, London. Recent solo work includes Bach’s Cantatas 36 and 186 (Bishop’s Consort and David Stancliffe); Britten’s 'Hymn to St Cecilia' (Schola Cantorum); 'Rejoice in the Lamb' (Vox Holloway); Howells’s and Fauré’s 'Requiem'; Carissimi’s 'Jepthe' (as ‘Filia’); and she was the soloist for the première of Harvey Brough’s 2014 composition 'Incantation of Eden'. Between 2007 and 2012 Miranda held leading roles in six newly-commissioned operas for London-based youth opera company, W11 Opera. During her time at university, Miranda sang with the Durham University Chamber Choir, the Durham Cathedral Consort of Singers, Durham Opera Ensemble, and in her college chapel choir as a Choral Scholar.
