Recent Music graduate with a first-class degree from Royal Holloway, University of London. Since I was at the age of 9 I have been very focused on classical music. First as a violinist, and pianist, and then primarily as a Mezzo-Soprano and Composer.
Music is the art of thinking with sounds, and it is my way of communicating with the world. Performing and composing are the tools I develop to communicate with world because it is my true passion.
First as a choir and violin student when I was 9, then I continued my studies as a piano and singing student. I have attended orchestras, violin workshops, choirs, and competitions. In 2014 I won two national prizes in Portugal with two of my original songs with vocals and piano, which deeply inspired me to continue my path as a musician who wants to develop herself as a professional and a human being through music .
As a performer, composer, songwriter, and arranger I am interested and highly influenced by Classical and Contemporary Music (e.g. Rachmaninov, Fauré, Mozart, Handel, Haydn, Beethoven, Stravinsky, Schoenberg, Berio, Britten, Thomas Ades, John Adams, Kaija Saariaho, Philip Glass) and also music that tends to be perceived as Popular music (e.g. Nick Drake, Matt Corby, Laura Marling, Keaton Henson, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Tori Amos and lots of other great and particular musicians), and Jazz (Robet Glasper, Esperanza Spalding, Joao Jobim, Esjborn Svensson), Soul + R& B (Eryka Bady, Lauryn Hill, Marvin Gaye, Akua Naru).
I am a singing, music theory, violin, and piano teacher, always enthusiastic in sharing my knowledge and passion for music.
After my degree and focus on classical music, I know mainly aim to collaborate with producer and musicians to create a fusion of musical projects (jazz, sould, neo soul, etc).
