William Searle’s 11 year choral education was shared between Llandaff Cathedral, Gloucester Cathedral and Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge, in addition to performances with the BBC National Chorus of Wales, Welsh National Opera and Cambridge University Chamber Choir. He regularly toured abroad with The Choir of Sidney Sussex, singing solo at venues including St Peter’s Basilica, Rome and Carnegie Hall, NYC. He is currently a member of the Genesis Sixteen, The Carice Singers and Concanenda. He is taught by Ryland Davies and Veronica Veysey-Campbell, following tuition with Ron Morris, Robert Dean and Lynette Alcantara. William has given recitals in Corpus Christi College, Oxford, Gloucester Cathedral, Sidney Sussex College, Cambridge and St Andrew’s Church, Aylestone, in addition to solos on BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4. He was a finalist in the Lady Frances Song Competition 2014, a search for Cambridge University’s best classical singer. Oratorio work has included Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 (Cambridge University Symphony Orchestra), J.S. Bach’s Magnificat (Gloucester Cathedral Choral Society and Cambridge University Chamber Choir) and Stainer’s The Crucifixion (St Michael’s, Croydon). Previous opera roles include Parpignol in Sinfonia d’Amici’s performance of La Bohème at Cadogan Hall, Monsieur Triquet in the CUOS production of Eugene Onegin and Boris in Shostakovich’s Cheryomushki.
