LornaJean Hehir is an Irish Mezzo-Soprano from Dublin. She is currently studying her Postgraduate at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, and is training here with Soprano, Lorna Anderson. LornaJean holds a B.Mus (Hons) from the Cork School of Music, C.I.T. Ireland. She studied here for 4 years under Mary Mac Sweeney. During this time she held a solo recital in the John Field Room, National Concert Hall, Dublin, Ireland. As she is currently pursuing her career in Opera, she is taking part in many productions, including Mozart's Magic Flute, directed by Martin Constantine held in the Sherman Cymru Theatre, Cardiff, and Bute Park Opera's production of Riders to the Sea, Vaughan-Williams, where she played the woman, and also was cast as cover role of the Dutches in A Dinner Engagement. She was recently cast in the production Devil Songs composed by Lewis Furber, where she will be playing a lead and only female role, 'Bernadette'. LornaJean was recently presented with a Scholarship to sing with the BBC Chorus of Wales, and is taking part in concerts throughout the year with them. At the moment LornaJean is learning Russian song which she will be performing in her Solo Recital in the Summer in the Dora Stoutzker Theatre, Cardiff.
