Catherine and Helena met whilst at college and have played together ever since! A versatile duo, they play a full and varied repertoire.

Flute and harp duo

Icaria Duo are a young and dynamic flute and harp duo based in London. They met whilst at the Royal Academy of Music and enjoyed many years of regular performances in Academy showcases. After a brief hiatus, when Helena moved to France to study for a year, they are rapidly expanding their repertoire and performance experience. After being chosen to premiere a new piece for flute and two harps by Richard Bissill, they performed the work throughout London as well as recording it in 2014. They have performed for Concordia Foundation and most recently were accepted onto the Tunnell Trust young artist programme. As individual musicians, they have played with orchestras including the Halle, The Philharmonia, The Royal Opera House, The Nash Ensemble, English National Ballet, Welsh National Opera, St. Petersburg Ballet and Birmingham Royal Ballet. They are a versatile duo with a large repertoire ranging from light classical music, to popular arrangements, folk, baroque and contemporary works. Catherine and Helena also have a wealth of experience performing at functions and can guarantee that Icaria duo will add a touch of something special to your event.
