Public liability insurance of £10 million

Gina currently works for NYCOS as accompanist for their National Choirs, Stirling and Edinburgh Regional Choirs, and often also plays for workshops, auditions and other events. Gina recently started working at MGA Academy of Performing Arts, Edinburgh, as accompanist for classes and shows. She has become the official accompanist for annual SBBA competitions and works on occasion at Douglas Academy as an accompanist and teacher. Gina gives solo performances and background music at weddings, dinners and events, recently at Dunfermline Rotary Club’s 100th anniversary at Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh. Gina can tailor music to your preferences and choices and is happy to source or arrange specific pieces or songs when requested. Gina works regularly with soloists Colin Thomas Bryce (The Tartan Tenor), Alexandra Baer, George M Coghill and Liam Forrest giving concerts across the country, as well as for Music in Hospitals & Care. Gina completed a BMus(Hons) at Edinburgh University, studying piano with Peter Evans, followed by the MMus(Perf) at RWCMD with piano teacher Richard Ormrod. At the RWCMD, Gina was also heavily involved in chamber music and as accompanist and répétiteur, particularly in the vocal department. She enjoyed coaching from the country’s leading accompanists and vocal coaches, most notably an extensive Schubert Lieder project with Simon Lepper and Michael Pollock, as well as Angela Livingstone and Eric Roberts. She has also worked with baritone Donald Maxwell, conductor Alice Farnham and violinists Christopher Horner and Yu Yasuraoka. During her time in Cardiff, Gina was delighted to have the opportunity to work regularly with the renowned Welsh singer and teacher Beatrice Unsworth in Cardiff. She also enjoyed being part of Welsh National Youth Opera’s 2013 production of Britten’s ‘Paul Bunyan’ as their student répétiteur. She subsequently undertook the Continuing Education Repetiteur course at RCS.

Customer questions

What do your clients love most about your performances?

I like to share my love of perfoming with the listeners and I work hard to create the right atmosphere for any event.

Which venues have you performed at in the past?

I'm very fortunate to have performed in lots of venues across Scotland and further afield. Venues include Balmoral Hotel (Edinburgh), Usher Hall (Edinburgh), Queens Hall (Edinburgh), Perth Concert Hall, Glasgow City Halls, Salzburg Cathedral.

What if my timings change after I've booked you?

Don't worry. I try to be as flexible as possible with clients so get in touch and we can discuss any changes.

Can you provide an iPod/DJ service before and between your sets?

This isn't usually relevant to the kind of performances I provide.

How much time do you need to set up?

If bringing my own equipment, 20-30 minutes before the event start is plenty.

If I have a piano at my venue, are you happy to perform on that?

Absolutely - as long as you can confirm it is in good working order!

Can I pick the songs you play from the set list?

I'm always happy to discuss all music choices with the clients so they have the best experience.

Are you able to bring your own piano or keyboard?

I can provide my own electric piano if there is not one available.

Can you learn song requests before the event?

Of course, I am happy to take requests of particular music for your event. If I don't have a copy available or I need to arrange it for piano, there will be a small surcharge of £25 to cover the additional cost and time involved.
