Born in South Wales, Elin began her musical life studying violin at the Junior Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama at the age of four. Since then, she has received tuition from Edmund Wilson, who was instrumental in introducing her to the viola at the age of eight, and Harry Cawood, with whom she successfully gained an ABRSM Diploma while at school. After graduating with a BMus Degree, Elin has recently finished her final year of the Master of Music course at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance with Distinction, studying with Rivka Golani and was supported by the Shield Award, the Stanley Picker Trust and as a Trinity College London Scholar. She is the winner of the 2014 Vera Kantrovich Prize for Solo Bach performing Suite No.3 in C major, and has performed in masterclasses with Martin Outram, Laszlo Barsonay, Aleksandar Milosev and Jiri Zigmund. Elin is a keen orchestral musician, playing with ensembles including the Trinity Laban String Ensemble, the London Firebird Orchestra and as a principal viola of the National Youth Orchestra of Wales. Elin represented Wales in the International Regional Orchestra 2015 in Baden Wurttemberg, supported by the Trinity Laban External Courses Fund. She has played in many prestigious venues in the UK and abroad, including Hoddinot Hall, St David's Hall, the Sage Gateshead, the Royal Albert Hall, the Berlin Konzerthaus and Carnegie Hall. Elin is also an avid chamber musician, with her quartet, the Camilli Quartet, winning the John Barbirolli Competition for Beethoven String Quartets in January 2015, and achieved a place on the Richard Carne Trust Mentorship Programme in partnership with the Carducci and Wihan Quartets. In the summer of 2013 she took part in the International Bartok Festival and was involved in two world premieres by composers Jeffrey Joseph and László Tihanyi for viola ensemble, and returned to the festival in 2015.
