Dorian Dimitrov started playing the piano at the age of nine. In 2005 he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Yehudi Menuhin School under Professor Ruth Nye with whom he continued for the duration of his six years at the school. Dorian has appeared in many venues in the United Kingdom and Bulgaria, including Wigmore Hall, Fairfield Halls, Menuhin Hall, Banqueting House (London), Royal Overseas League (Edinburgh) Perthshire, Festival Hall (Bulgaria) as well as multiple times on Bulgarian National Television and Radio. He has also played in many masterclasses to distinguished professors such as Dmitri Ratser, Valeria Szervanszky, Marek Zabrowski, Joan Havill, Noriko Ogawa, Caroline Palmer, Paul Roberts, Emile Naoumoff, Victor Rosenbaum, Piers Lane. Dorian is currently studying at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama under professors Charles Owen and Katya Apekisheva. Aside from his work as a pianist, an avid interest in conducting has proved an unfathomable passion since being at the Guildhall and has resulted in working with acclaimed conductors and pedagogues such as Mikhail Angelov, Kristjan Järvi, Rodolfo Saglimbeni, Toby Purser, Denise Ham, Robert Houlihan, John Longstaff and David Corkhill. Dorian made his conducting debut at Guildhall in November 2014 and is presently studying conducting with Timothy Redmond.
