Claire is a scholarship student at the Royal Academy of Music on the Postgraduate Vocal Studies course under the tutelage of Kathleen Livingstone and Andrew Smith. She graduated in June 2016 from Durham University with a First Class Honours degree in Combined Honours in Arts: Music and French, where she worked with Miranda Wright and sung with the University Chamber Choir. Claire spent the third year of her undergraduate degree in Toulouse, France, studying simultaneously at L'Université Jean Jaurès (Musicology) and at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (Classical voice) where she studied with Anne Fondeville and Nicolas Kaitasov. She also was both a chorus member and soloist with L'Ensemble Baroque de Toulouse. Claire is a two-time Samling Academy graduate and has participated in masterclasses with Sir Thomas Allen, Patricia MacMahon, Caroline Dowdle, Benjamin Appl and Jean-Paul Pruna. Claire is enrolled on the Philharmonia Chorus student scheme. She is supported by the Josephine Baker Trust. Oratorio solos include Haydn's Little Organ Mass, Duruflé's Requiem and Bach Cantata BVW 78. Operatic roles include Yum-Yum (Mikado), Micaela (Carmen) and Mary Crawford (Dove) all with the Durham Opera Ensemble. She has also been chorus for Opera Brava (Madam Butterfly) and Ryedale Festival Opera (The Merry Widow). Originally a first-study pianist, Claire has competed in a number of competitions and festivals across the South-East including the Mid-Sussex Festival and Reigate and Redhill Music and Drama Festival. In 2009 Claire was selected by concert pianist Richard Meyrick as one of three "Pianoman scholars" in the country. She continued her piano studies in Toulouse and now enjoys accompanying singers and instrumentalists. Claire is also an enthusiastic teacher, with four years tutoring experience of both singing and piano. She also leads the singing section of Summer Camps Le Rosey, an international, bilingual summer school in Switzerland, where she is also a teacher of piano and of English as a foreign language.
