About Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra (CUCO)

CUCO is Cambridge’s flagship orchestra, and attracts the University’s very best musical talent,
Cambridge

A word from Harry Hickmore, CUCO President 2014-2015: “Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra is a student orchestra like no other, as it strives to work to professional standards. With rehearsals taking place only a week before every concert, CUCO musicians thrive when faced with demanding repertoire and produce performances that are simply world-class. The many performances and tours over the course of the year mean the orchestra quickly becomes a tight-knit community, one that not only plays together but also socialises together. I am delighted to say that CUCO has a very exciting programme coming up this year with a number of special opportunities such as the Harrison Birtwistle Festival in November and the chance to work with Carlos Izcaray in May. If you think CUCO is the ensemble for you then we look forward to seeing you at auditions in October. Playing with CUCO is an experience unlike any other, and one that I would thoroughly recommend.” Cambridge University Chamber Orchestra is Cambridge’s flagship orchestra. CUCO attracts the University’s very best musical talent, works exclusively with distinguished professional conductors, and achieves the highest possible standards. Recent highlights have included a recording of Mozart and Haydn with Sir Roger Norrington, Wagner with Sir Mark Elder and a live Radio 3 broadcast with King’s College Chapel Choir conducted by Stephen Cleobury.
