Allison Taylor is a very versatile and experienced soprano, specialising mainly in oratorio and concert works including many requiems.

Allison was born and educated in Birmingham, and later at Cardiff University where she gained a Bachelor of Music with Honours. During her time at University Allison was awarded both the Sir Geraint Evans prize and the David Lloyd prize for singing. From there she studied at Birmingham Conservatoire under Margaret Thomas, gaining her Trinity Performance Certificate and ABRSM. Allison is a member of the CBSO Chorus, the female group Cantilena, London Chorale and the English Concert Singers and has performed as soloist all over the world for such names as Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Mark Elder, John Elliot Gardner and Andris Nelsons .Engagements include Dido in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneus, oratorio roles in Bach St. Matthew Passion, Haydn’s Creation, Handel’s Messiah and Mendelssohn Elijah , and soprano soloist in Vivaldi Gloria,Handel’s Dixit Dominus , Haydn Little Organ Mass, Nelson Mass, Mozart’s Regina Coeli, Requiem and Vesperae Solennes de Confessore, Orf Carmina Burana and Rutter Requiem. Recently Allison sung the soprano solos in the Faure and Durufle Requiems and Elgar’s For the Fallen in Paris and Amiens for the English Concert Singers, and performed Martin Bates Gloria for the Heart of England Singers. Allison works as Music Coordinator and class teacher in a C of E School in Solihull where she directs 2 choirs, a recorder group and a handell group, and is also employed by St. Alphege CE Church where she gives regular vocal training to the young choristers.
